Since there are many registries and venues in which dogs can earn titles, following is a brief list of title abbreviations and their meaning.  This is not a complete list, as there are various foreign and agility titles included on this web site.  For more thorough information, you can search for and access the web sites for the various registries or organizations:

REGISTRIES

AKC = American Kennel Club
ASCA = Australian Shepherd Club of America
NADAC = North American Dog Agility Council
CKC = Canadian Kennel Club
USDAA = United States Dog Agility Association

 

AGILITY

AKC:
    NA = Novice Agility                    NAJ = Novice Agility Jumpers
    OA = Open Agility                    OAJ = Open Agility Jumpers
    AX = Agility Excellent                AXJ = Agility Excellent Jumpers

ASCA:
    RS-N = Regular Standard Novice    (A "V" in the title denotes Veteran)
    RS-O = Regular Standard Open   
    RS-E = Regular Standard Elite   

    JS-N = Jumpers Standard Novice
    JS-O = Jumpers Standard Open
    JS-E = Jumpers Standard Elite

    GS-N = Gamblers Standard Novice
    GS-O = Gamblers Standard Open
    GS-E = Gamblers Standard Elite

NADAC:
    NAC = Novice Agility Certificate    (A "V" in the title denotes Veteran)
    OAC = Open Agility Cert.
    EAC = Elite Agility Cert.

    NJC = Novice Jumpers Cert.
    OJC = Open Jumpers Cert.
    EJC = Elite Jumpers Cert.

    NGC = Novice Gamblers Cert.
    OGC = Open Gamblers Cert.
    EGC = Elite Gamblers Cert.

 

WORKING

ASCA:
    STD = Started Trial Dog, d = ducks, s = sheep and c = cattle
    OTD = Open Trial Dog, d = ducks, s = sheep and c = cattle
    ATD = Advanced Trial Dog, d = ducks, s = sheep and c = cattle
    WTCH. = Working Trial Champion
    RTD = Ranch Trial Dog, s = sheep, c = cattle
    PATD = Post Advanced Trial Dog, s = sheep, c = cattle

 

OBEDIENCE

ASCA and AKC:
    CD = Companion Dog
    CDX = Companion Dog Excellent
    UD = Utility Dog

 

CONFORMATION

ASCA and AKC:
    Ch. = Champion
    A-Ch. = Altered Champion (ASCA only, spayed or neutered)

 

SPECIAL HONORS/OTHER

HOF = Hall of Fame (reserved for sires, dams and kennels having achieved a certain number and combination of titles through ASCA)

DNA-CP = DNA, Certified Parentage.  Dog has been DNA profiled, but only one or neither parent has been.

DNA-VP = DNA, Verified Parentage.  Dog has been DNA profiled, plus both parents, thus verifying the parentage of the dog.
